While pregnancy, new parenthood or perinatal loss are shared human experiences, no two individuals or families go through these major transitions the same. We are not meant to do it alone!
As your Perinatal Behavioral Health Coach, I bring a unique perspective - understanding the ups and downs of the birth process and as an empathetic listener to be with you. During our sessions together, you can be held in a safe and compassionate space, learn to process the emotions that arise and practice grounding techniques.
With my background as an OB nurse, you will receive evidence-based education for yourself, your baby and your family to help support you in your decision-making. Together we will focus on the challenges you’re experiencing and form strategies to help you thrive in this dynamic and difficult season of life.
Coaching differs from therapy in that it’s focused on present challenges and future solutions rather than working through past traumas or making diagnoses. In our work together, I’ll support your resiliency so that you emerge more empowered to maximize your healing and well-being.
Some clients may benefit from therapy as well as coaching. If it becomes clear that a client is experiencing a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder that is beyond my scope as a coach and nurse, community resources can be shared and I can assist with referrals to mental health providers.
